Avengers industrial devolution
Apr. 25th, 2022 01:52 pmWhen one considers what a pandemic has done to supply chains, The Snap is totally under-described and under-depicted.
It’s not even remotely how there’s now twice as much stuff as people, it’s there’s half as many people to get it where it needs to go. Plus, it takes a minimum defined number of people to make one thing or 100,000 copies of thing so that thing’s not getting made if they’re .5(minimum).
Statistically, there have to be some totally ghost container ships just motoring on until they run into something, and many that are down to 1-3 people who may not know how to steer. The remaining ATCs getting all those planes down on the ground that first day deserve their own kudos. Same with the firefighters and EMTs who were suddenly on their own.
It’s sad what didn’t even get thought about.
